About
ME
Hi! I’m Eric. I am a South Minneapolis resident and a progressive policy analyst with over 10 years of experience in state, local, and federal issues. I am passionate about the value of collective action and the possibilities of the brighter future we can build if we work together. I am running for the Board of Estimate and Taxation because I believe taxes and public investment are the essential tool for transforming society, and I want to bring that conversation to our neighbors. Here’s a little more about me:
I grew up in New York City and lived in five states before settling in South Minneapolis. I love many things about many parts of our country, but I have found the sense of community Minneapolis is unparalleled, and that is why I have made my life here. I love biking, running, cross country skiing, and working in the yard.
I began my career in public policy as a researcher at the Roosevelt Institute where I had the privilege to learn from some of the greatest progressive minds in the country. That experience convinced me that, while many policy areas demand our attention, taxes and public investment are an essential through-line in our contemporary socioeconomic struggles. That is where my passion for taxes was first solidified.
Since the fall of 2020, I have been working as the Coalition Director of We Make Minnesota—a group of labor and community groups organizing for an equitable state tax code capable of funding our public investment needs in health care, education, environmental stewardship, and other essential public priorities. I have helped fight off tax cuts for the rich, organized union members, and stood with a wide range of Minnesotans who have found the government is not meeting their most basic needs.
I am running to help change that and I would be grateful for your support.
